Busy, Busy, F'ing Busy

Yep, you guessed it, things have been busy as hell for a while now. Work has been utter hell, the remodel is kicking full-swing, and Spring has officially started. BUT... the Mustang is now looking even better. The BBK CAI is still kicking ass/taking names, and now there's a couple of other mods to join it. The stock plastic headlight knob finally gave out after having the clip bent...*cough*BEN*cough*... so it got replaced. Got a Stack Racing Billet Aluminum knob from American Muscle. Slid on the post assembly and fastened with a set screw tightened by an allen wrench.

Also added a Mach 1 Chin Spoiler, also from American Muscle. Attached to the bottom of the front bumper using bolts, washers, and lock nuts attached through holes drilled through the slots in the chin spoiler. Took some re-adjusting a couple of times, but Joey (with a slight bit of help from me) finally got it lined up/fastened on. It's good having a friend who loves to work on cars. Finally got a decent pic of it today before it started raining, and then played with the image editing software just a tad. This is the end result:

I absolutely love it. I plan to clean up the engine bay on my next day off, and I'll take/post some pics of the CAI after I do. I'll try to update a little more often now, depends on how hellacious things become at work. Oh well, we'll see.

Another boring weekend

Well I worked this weekend, so there wasn't really much opportunity to do much. I hung with my cousin Friday afternoon/night since he came up from the beach for the weekend. Went to Hooters to eat, then came through Clemson and cruised for a little while. Sat at the top of the parking garage listening to the Clemson/USC baseball game (Tigers won, fuck yes) for a little bit. My buddy Mitch called me and we met him at Bloom just outside Clemson so he could check out the intake. I think he liked it, we sat and talked for a little while then parted ways.

We went to Walmart to get some Transmission Fluid for Ben's Tahoe to see if it'd help since it's all sorts of fucked up. Bought it and went back to Ingles in town where he parked it to meet up with me. We put the fluid in, let it idle for a few minutes, then he went to test drive. No help whatsoever. He's gonna have to get the transmission replaced. Sucks to be him.

I'm actually off today and tomorrow, and have yet to do anything productive. Might go hang with Joey a little later, then who knows what. Hopefully something fun comes up. Anyway, deuces.

*Shhhhhhhhp!* VROOOOOM!!!

If you're looking into a BBK Cold Air Intake system for your vehicle and are second-guessing yourself... quit it and just buy the damn thing! It was a bit of a pain to install, but it was well worth the effort.

Got in touch with Joey about 7:00 and headed over to his place, and we started the pre-assembly for the intake. We left to get a drink from the gas station, then came back and disassembled the stock intake system, which took all of 5 minutes. We ended up having to change up the installation process just a little to get it all installed correctly. About 70 minutes after we started, we were finished and there was a gorgeous looking chrome intake system under my hood. I cranked up and let it idle for a little while to get everything "broken in" while Joey and I cleaned up outside.

We ended up playing some Halo after that for a little bit, then I left cause I had to open at work today. Thing sounded sick! I emailed American Muscle's SCT representative about a re-tune to include the CAI. It got emailed to me today, and I just put it on the tuner and uploaded to my ECU about a half hour ago. BIG difference, and it is absolutely awesome. Best money I've ever spent. Will update more later, including pics. Take it easy!

Ok so...

I completely sucked at this whole "blogging" thing for a while. Once Mustang Week came about, this thing was well forgotten. Oh well, my fault. Time to let this phoenix rise from the ashes and make it's triumphant return.

Nothing has really changed with the car. I got the tuner I talked about and it is absolutely phenomenal. For a completely stock V6 Mustang, I'm blistering some people and running a decent amount faster than I should be. The 93-performance tune is magnificent. Transmission was re-calibrated, shift points changed, shifts were firmed up and much quicker, there is more power being put out, and my exhaust is much deeper than it was before. But alas, it's still just a stock engine... for now.

I bought a BBK Cold Air Intake from American Muscle, which was delivered yesterday. I'm going in just a few minutes to Joey's house and we're gonna install it. I'll be sure to put up some pics of the install, and I'll have a whole before/during/after album on Facebook later. I've also purchased a chin spoiler from AM which is en route from Richmond, VA as of 9:06 this morning... or so UPS says. Joey's gonna help with the install on that too.

Yeah, it's only mods as of right now. One performance, one appearance, but you gotta crawl before you can walk. Looking forward to this transformation from showroom-equipped to "holy shit". Will keep you all updated.

Sunday/Monday 7/19-20/09 - Stress at Work and Vacation Packing

Sunday:

Well I woke up about 1:00, and relaxed for a little while before going into work at 5. Given I was supposed to be off, the day sucked. Had alot of crap to do and very little time to do it. Long story short, we stayed 2 hours past closing time to finish up. Headed home and just slept. Thats about it.

Monday:

Woke up at 11:30, and gathered clothes to wash and get packed for Wednesday afternoon's trip to Myrtle Beach. Killed time until 4:00, then got ready for work at 5. Was a rather slow day, and we finished Zone Recovery much earlier than normal. After we finished outside, we went down to Lumber and helped flat-stack, sweep, and straighten up. We had the entire store done and were clocked out by 10:30... something that usually doesn't happen until 11:00 or later.

Got home to find a note from mom saying I had 1 load of laundry in a basket in my room, another in the dryer, and a request to put her's into the dryer from the washer. I did that and sorted through what I was wearing to work the next 2 days and what I was packing for the beach. Tomorrow I've got to stop by Joey's place and then Chris' to pick up swim trunks from both places, then go get a hair cut. I'm working 4-11, then coming back to wash the trunks and finish packing up . Working 10-2 Wednesday then heading out. I'm ready to go!

Saturday: 7/18/09 - My Tuner, Work, and a Pool Party

Woke up with the urge to buy a mod for my car. So after visiting American Muscle and getting a couple of options, I checked the bank account. Decided on getting myself an SCT Tuner, and ordered a 93-octane performance tune with it. It should be here by Wednesday. I went to Seneca after that, and ended up heading to Josh's apartment. We ended up washing his GT, and just talked for a while. About recent happenings, Mustangs, Mustang Week, and the recent accident with John O. Left to go pick up some lunch from Atami, then came back to eat. Talked for a bit more then left and went to work at 3, and closed til 11.

After work, I went to my friend Joey's for a party. I got strict orders to "call some girls" when I got there. I made a few texts, and Renate said she was in. Went to pick her up, and she called Bethany to meet us at Shaver. We got there, and had a few drinks, then got in the pool. Swam and threw the football for a bit, then got in the hot tub. Went back downstairs and played some Halo, listened to Metallica, and played guitar. Ended up leaving at like 5am and taking her home. Turned everything off a little after 6 and was asleep within 5 minutes.

Friday: 7/17/09 - Work Adventures and a New Tuner

Woke up to a text from my department manager saying I worked 5-9 after speculation I worked at 10am. Went back to sleep and woke back up at 11:30. Did some laundry, checked facebook, and made some pasta for lunch. Took a shower and left for work early so I could drop by Allstate to pay the home/auto insurance. Got to work at 5, and got a run-down of what to expect this week.

Apparently something happened on my day off, causing my zone manager to have to completely re-do our schedules. I was supposed to work at 10 tomorrow, but he told me to sleep in, that he'd call me around 12, told me to expect to close. I said 'alright.' I continued my day fixing up what I could by myself, and left a list of stuff that needed to be done with my Op's Manager.

Left work and made it home in time to get a phone call from my friend telling me to come back to Seneca. So I did and dropped by there for a bit. I called my friend Josh to let him know it was alright for him to crash at my cousin's beach house for Mustang Week. He told me his tuner came in and he was gonna hook it up when he got home from dinner. I told him to call me when he got home, he did and I headed that way. I got there right as he plugged the tuner in, and we talked a bit while the tune loaded up into the car's computer. After it finished, he said he was taking a quick solo trip around the block, he did then he came back to pick me up.

We left for Wal-Mart and you could tell the boost he got from his 93-octane tune. The throttle response was better, you felt more power, and it ran as smooth as butter. SCT does a fantastic job. We got to Wal-Mart and ran into a few of Josh's friends, so we talked for well over 30 minutes. Left there and headed back to his apartment. We did a quick bit of research for my car's engine, then he started to watch "The International". I left and went to Taco Bell for a late dinner, came home, and here I am. Just ready for Wednesday to be here so I can go to the beach, lol.
